Give it a break people!
It’s interesting how spoiled some of us Americans are, complaining about everything and anything. Las Palomas is an amazing resort, I have stayed at many in Rocky Point and this one is the best. But remember you are in Mexico not American where you can get waited on hand and foot and cause a commotion to get a free desert. You’re not going to find that in Mexico. It’s a different way of life and they have different priorities, it’s not all about you. The beaches are not like America they don’t have life guards and they don’t care if you get stung by jellies. You are on your own and that is what makes it so wonderful. Don’t get frustrated if the waiter is slow just order two drinks at a time make the best of it. If check in is going slow order a drink. Pay in exact cash and don’t expect change because they most likely won’t bring it back. Bring lots of fives and ones for spending; don’t bring 50.00/20.00 dollar bills to avoid a problem. When navigating the streets know where you are going and take it slow, if someone wants to pass on the right shoulder let them its Mexico…. You’re getting a good deal and having a great time, try getting anything like Las Palomas in America for the price, it can’t be done.

DISAPPOINTED/BEWARE PARENTS
MY FAMILY & I VISITED LAS PALOMAS FOR THE FIRST TIME ALONG WITH SOME FRIENDS THAT\'VE BEEN THERE BEFORE...IT\'S A BEAUTIFUL PLACE, THE WHOLE APARTEMNT WAS VERY NICELY DECORATED, KITCHEN WAS VERY WELL EQUIPPED WITH ALL THE NECESSARY UTENSILS. CLEANING CREW COULD DEFINATELY IMPROVED THOUGH. WE HAD TO CALL SEVERAL TIMES FOR CLEAN TOWELS...BUT ENOUGH OF THAT BECAUSE NONE OF THIS COMPARES TO THE REAL NIGHTMARE THAT WE EXPERIENCED THERE @ LAS PALOMAS. ON AUGUST 8, 2009 (SATURDAY) A 6 YEAR OLD BOY DROWNED IN ONE OF THE POOLS OF THE RESORT AND THE WAY THE HOTEL STAFF HANDLED THE SITUATION WAS INCREDIBLY UNEXPLAINABLE. APPARENTLY, THERE WERE NO LIFEGUARDS ON SITE OR AT LEAST NONE OF THE SECURITY GUARDS WERE & MOST LIKELY STILL AREN\'T CPR TRAINED. THAT TO ME & TO THE OTHER PEOPLE THAT WITNESSED THE TRAGEDY WAS INCREDIBLE TO BELIEVE AT THAT MOMENT WHEN THE CHILD WAS FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFE. THE HOTEL AS NICE AS IT LOOKS DOES NOT HAVE A DOCTOR ON STAFF, NO FIRST AID ROOM, NO OXYGEN TANKS. I REMEMBER A DOCTOR WHO HAPPENED TO BE A GUEST THERE AT THE RESORT WHO AIDED THE CHILD SCREAMED FOR AN OXYGEN TANK & THE HOTEL STAFF JUST STOOD THERE HELPLESS. I DON\'T BLAME THE SECURITY GUARDS BECAUSE I KNOW THEY TOO WERE DRAMATIZED TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON...I BLAME THE BIG PEOPLE FROM THE RESORT THAT DO NOT PROVIDE THEIR STAFF WITH CPR TRAINING AS MUCH MONEY AS THE RESORT MUST MAKE. PARENTS PRIMARILY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR CHILDREN I KNOW I HAVE 4 BOYS & I WAS ALWAYS WITH THEM ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY WERE IN THE WATER. PARENTS IT\'S IMPORTANT THAT THEY WEAR LIFEVESTS & I DON\'T THINK THAT THE LITTLE BOY WAS WEARING ONE AT THE TIME...BUT IT\'S NOT SO MUCH THE FACT THAT HE DROWNED THAT I\'M TERRIFIED BECAUSE AFTERALL WHERE THERE IS WATER ANYONE IS PRONE TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT, THAT POSSIBILITY IS ALWYAS PRESENT. I\'M DISGUSTED AT THE FACT THE HOTEL STAFF HANDLED THE WHOLE SITUATION FROM BEGINNING TO END. VERY UNPREPARD. IT\'S SAD TO MENTION, BUT MAYBE THE CHILD WOULD STILL BE ALIVE HAD HELP GOTTEN TO HIM SOON. THE FUNNY THING IT\'S THAT THE NEXT MORNING A FRIEND OF MINE ASKED ONE OF THE SECURITY GUARDS ABOUT THE BOY & HE RESPONDED THAT THE BOY WAS FINE NOT KNOWING I GUESS THAT WE KNEW WHAT HAD HAPPENED. I UNDERSTAND THAT THE HOTEL IS WATCHING OUT FOR IT\'S REPUTATION BUT THEY SHOULD TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION THE PAIN OF THE BOY\'S FAMILY. I ALSO WANT TO MENTION THE WAY A MAN FROM THEIR SALES DEPT. ACTED....HE STINKS!!!...AFTER SHARING WITH HIM ABOUT WHAT HAD HAPPENED HE REPLIED THAT IT WAS ALL THE PARENTT\'S RESPONSIBILITY AND HE HAD NOTHING ELSE TO SAY. HE SHOWED NO REMORSE AT NO GIVEN MOMENT WAS HE APOLOGITIC NO HUMAN SENTIMENT AT ALL HE CERTAINLY GIVES LAS PALOMAS A BAD NAME ON TOP OF EVERYTHING ELSE MENTIONED BUT HE REPRESENTS THE ICING ON THE CAKE. IN ALL PUERTO PENASCO IS A WONDERFUL PLACE JUST LIKE A LOT OF PLACES IN MEXICO, BUT WE CERTAINLY WONT\'S BE STAYING THERE AGAIN. AMONGST MY FRIENDS & US WE PAID FOR 6 ROOMS FOR THE WEEK OF AUGUST 2-8 2009. WE\'LL BE TAKING OUR MONEY TO ANOTHER RESORT NEXT TIME. AS FOR THE BOY\'S FAMILY WE SEND OUR CONDOLENCES & PRAY THAT GOD GIVES THEM THE STRENGHT THEY NEED TO EASE THEIR PAIN/LOSS SOMEWAY/SOMEHOW.

Not Recommended!!
I have to say that the service at Las Palomas is not the best. This was the 2nd time going to Las Palomas. I had a bad experience this time around. The resort did not take my reservation into consideration. We ended up getting our room until 7pm the day we arrived. General manager no where to be found at any time of the day. It almost seems as if they hide instead of finding a solution to your situation. There was big trash bags in the hall ways for over 2 days (until I called 3 times to have someone pick it up). Pablo and Danitza were the best!!! They really went the extra mile to make us some what happy since the manager was not willing to speak to us. I do not recommend this place at all and I will not be coming back again.

check in still stinks
The check in and check out process still is terrible. Two employees with lines of 30 minutes to an hour. We actually went to town for a couple of hours until the normal check in time had passed. Summer months are Mexican tourist times and the facilities are very crowded. The pools at both phase one and phase two were overflowing with people and the pool and beach chairs were all taken by 10:00am. Some of the staff was exceptionally helpful and some was rude at best. When my credit card was blocked as I had forgotten to notify the company that I would be traveling to Mexico, the young lady at the front desk was very helpful. They did not have anywhere near enough cleaning staff on hand. Our poor room maid showed up about 6:00 in the evening and was obviously worn out. The security around the pool and beach area are a real pain and are very full of themselves. I was harrassed for having a small cooler at the pool while numerous other Mexican guests were obviously enjoying their own beverages from their own coolers. The second day a security guard tried to kick me out of the pool for wearing a t-shirt. Again numerous other Mexican guests were in the water with t-shirts on. The discrimination was obvious. This is the second time I have stayed at Las Palomas and it will be the last.

Las Palomas fun
My husband and I have been visiting Rocky Point since the early 70s before hotels or resorts were even thought of. We have stayed at them all and have really enjoyed our experiences at Las Palomas. We find it to be the most ellegant for the price. The condos are always comfortable and the location is perfect for access to almost anything. The golf course is a big plus. The only negative we have found is the pool sometimes is accessible to \"locals\" and the security is not as well enforced as it should be. We have taken younger children and the slide isn\'t always working due to ongoing \"maintenance\" issues. I would highly recommend Las Palomas to those who want a relaxing getaway or first time visitors to the area.

LOVED Las Palomas!
We went to Las Palomas for the RCPM Circus Mexicus and my bday. Stayed in Phase II and had an amazing condo- the owners did a great job with it! All appliances worked (except for ceiling fan in master bedroom but wasn\'t a big deal), there was a chandelier over the bathtub along with a tv, all tvs were flat screens, and the furniture was nice and new. The pool was amazing and clean- they definitely need more floatation devices for the lazy river. They said they were all out, but there was no one in the river. Swim up bar service was fast and courteous. The staff at front desk was awesome and accommodating. I can\'t wait to go back and would even consider buying one of these condos!

Beware of the Los Palomas
We stayed at the Los Polomas March 22nd through March 28th. After staying in the Sonoran resorts the Los Polomas is poor at best. The room was only okay with lower quality furnishings and less than addequate cooking utensils and dishes. It was basically nothing but a party room. When we arrived our room was very dirty. The walls were dirty, the floor was dirty and none of the dishes were clean. The cloths dryer was packed with sand and the front door was broke only to mention a few of the issues. We provided the supervisor with a list of items we found wrong in the unit the next morning and asked to have someone look into it. We were told that they would get to it right away, I believe the supervisors comment was \"immediately\". After waiting more than 2 hours the cleaning crew showed up without any idea of what we had complained about or what needed to be done. After asking the non-english speaking cleaning crew to take care of our concerns and waiting another hour and a half we at least had the room cleaned. I expected that none of the other mechanical items would be taken care of so we went into town. And I should mention that we left a \"do not disturb\" tag on our door when we left. When we returned we noticed right away that someone had been in the room. All the lights were on, items were moved, and by the way found some things missing including $100.00 from my sons wallet which he and his girlfriend had both accidentally left behind when we went to town. I went to the front desk and reported the missing items and money and was informed that the cleaning crew and maintenance crew had been sent back into our room. Very interesting since they had already cleaned the room and still none of the mechanical items on the list had been fixed. The front door was broken and I had to fix it myself just to get it to close. This was nothing more than an opportunity to go through our stuff while we were away as they went through our bags, our cloths, and even played with my sons laptop as it was on for about 30 minutes during the time we were out. I was shocked they did not take it as well. So along with the opening line, if you are planning a trip to Puerto Penansco do yourself a favor and try the Sonoran resorts as we never have these problems there and they are much much nicer.

Great views, great accomodations
We were pleasantly impressed with the condos at Las Palomas. They were located on the sandy beach halfway between town and La Cholla. The rooms were clean and the pools were nice (although most were a little cool it being December, even the hottub was more like a warm tub)All in all, it was a great choice for a relaxing holiday.

October 19, 2008
Chilly Water!
The resort is very clean, condos are great. The water in all the pools was like ice...way too cold for anyone to enjoy so the pools were empty. Security refused to bend the rules to let kids get in the hot tub since there was no other pool to enjoy...bunch of sticks in the mud! They started warming the pools on Thursday for the weekend guests...what are we?...we were high paying guests also. Pool Bar took orders and served food at your palapa...that was nice. Overall a nice visit...will definitely check on the pool situation next time.

Five Star Facilities, Three Star Service
We stayed for three nights, and were completely impressed with the beautiful and nearly flawless accommodations, pools, and beaches. Because the accommodations and facilities are so wonderful, the flaws we did experience were unfortunately magnified because they seemed so out of place, comparatively - our room had no facecloths, and despite asking three times for these (twice being told \"I am sending someone up right away\"), we never received any. Also, there was a distinct shortage of toilet paper, with a couple of extra rolls arriving at our door well after we had been in bed for some time on the second night. Little things like no salt in the salt shaker, a broken toilet paper roll holder in the bathroom, and a sudden absence of any running water for about an hour one morning were not hugely annoying - they simply pointed out that this resort is relatively new and working out some \'bugs\' in the system. We will definitely come back - the price is unbeatable, and the friendly assistance of the restaurant staff in getting us a last-minute piece of birthday cake for our son, complete with a candle, more than made up for these minor glitches. We can only hope that Las Palomas keeps its VERY high value-for-money feel - what a bargain for a short, spur of the moment vacation away from our vacation in Phoenix.

Great resort; terrible service
The resort is beautiful, the pools are fabulous, and the condos are very clean. The only downside is the service - don\'t expect any. The TV commercial that will play in your room says the \"concierge can accomodate any wish\". So untrue. I wanted to get a cake for my child\'s birthday. I could never even get a hold of the concierge and the front desk was totally unhelpful. When we asked for directions to town, the front desk person started drawing on a napkin, no street names, just random lines through the sand. Of course we got lost. Just don\'t expect any service from the hotel and your trip will be great. The pools make up for any lack of service!

The Condos are great at las Palomas
We stayed at Las Palomas the second week of August 2008 and we were very happy with the resort, the service , the food and the overall environment

July 22, 2008
The Place is GREAT,The service SUCKS
On the upside my room was nice and clean with all kinds of accomadations. The pools and beach all great within walking distance. On the down side the service is very poor.Don't expect the staff to come within the same day if you have any issues with your room.Check in and check out was horrible. If your on a budget then go to the super market in town within 5 mins-10 mins from resort to stock up on breakfast & lunch. Then splurge on dinner! We saved SOOO much on doing this:)I look forward to coming back to Puerto Penasco but not to this resort.

Great Resort
I just got back from a stay at the Las Palomas. The only bad thing was the wait in line while checking in...A little unorganized. The rest of the trip was wonderful! The room was way better than I ever expected, and the pools were awesome. I am planning to go back in a few weeks.

Frustration at it\'s best
Check-in and Check-out system is a disaster!!! It tooks us 45 minutes to check-in and 1 hour and 15 minutes to check out. Front desk customer service was horrible. On one occassion my friend and I were left standing in the middle of addressing our issue. The employee just decided to step away without saying anything and helping another customer. It took him 20 minutes to come back and say that he had to take care of another issue. During check-in my friend was denied her room for the name on the reservation did not match her ID. Name on reservation was Martha and her name was Marissa. We had a confirmation number along with an ID with the same name, yet they did not seem to care. It took us more than an hour to check-in. We had to stay in line for 1 hour and 15 minutes just to check out, which I cannot understand why for all I needed to do is turn in keys. There were no additional charges or pending holds. The front desk customer service protocol must definately be revisited!!!!!!!!

Awesome time
We had a awesome time, we stayed for 4 nights. 7/11/08 This was our first time at Las Palomas and we will stay there again and again. The condo was great, housekeeping was good. Workers were very pleasant and helpful. It was our 1st year Anniversay and it was truely a wonderful time. We have stayed at many of the other condos up and down the beach and we think by far this was the best so far. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

WOW!!! Paradise... Way more than I expected...
I wanted to get away for the week, and booked a stay at Las Palomas. I heard great reviews, and wanted a hotel type of vibe. I arrived, and was immediately impressed at the lobby. I felt like I was in Cabo at a 5 Star resort. (I did stay in the second phase) which is way better than the first phase. I met a friend who was staying in phase one, and there was no comparison between the condo, that she stayed at, and mine. Apparently phase 1 condos weren\'t didn\'t have as high quality finishes as phase two. Yet they are the same price. The pools were gorgeous. There were too many pools to count. The only negative I could think of was that there is still construction going on for phase 3. If you want a quick getaway definitely come to Rocky Point. The condo I stayed in was beautifully furnished. When I come back I am for sure going to request the same one.

June 27, 2008
We enjoyed it so much.
Our vacation was truly a delight. The resort has a wonderful family atmosphere. The convenience of having the pools and the palapas by the beach made all of us (a party of 28) enjoy our stay. We missed having more options of on-site restaurants, but we saw a sushi bar and a deli are on their way, which will definitely encourage us to go back.

June 26, 2008
Nice Condo but....
We had a nice sunday at the condo, but on Monday they had a water break so we were without water for 8 hours. We heard through others that this also happended two weeks prior. So beware you may have a day without water. Another thing, they don't provide you with rafts for the lazy river anymore. This was another inconvenience. Last years stay was by far a more relaxing stay than this summer. Just go prepared with extra water and rafts/tubes. And then at check out, the front desk didn't even apologize for the inconveniences.

June 23, 2008
great
great stay. awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!

June 16, 2008
happy but.....
We really enjoyed our stay at Palomas.Until it was time to check out. We had put down a 150 dollar deposit in cash that we were told was going to our account. For some reason we did not get a reciept so when it was time to check out they had no record that we had left that money. Okay I would say it is our fault but the couple we were traveling with, it also happened to them. So we are just letting people know don't be too trusting and ask for a reciept even if they say it is going towards your account. You would expect more from a 5 star resort. When something like that happens it just ruins the whole experiance. Just be careful with your money we all work hard for it.

June 13, 2008
NOT full service
Beach towels are supposed to be provided by the resort. You show a card, and get the amount of towels registered for your condo. Our first trip to the pool/beach, we were informed they were out of towels! We had to drip dry. Our condo was oceanfront and overlooked the pool/beach. The resort has a sound system used daily to entice guests into lotteries and games - very annoying and far from relaxing. Be warned, you cannot charge food, drinks or services to your condo.

Excellente!!!!!! Chido Chido!!!!!
Labor Day Weekend 2007; This was our first experience @ this hotel and it was one of the best experiences we've ever had! The location is great and the Ocean View was perfect! All the pools and activites at the hotel were fun and exciting! Our family had a great time, so much that we plan to stay at the same hotel on 4th of July weekend!!:)

Awesome!
It was an incredilbe experience to stay at the Las Palomas. I highly recommend this resort to anyone with kids, or just going as a couple this is the place to go. The restrauant food is wonderful.

Excellente
Family and friends stayed here in late October for a weekend reunion. We were all amazed at the quality of this resort tucked away on Sandy beach in this little fishing town. The entire group have been visiting Rocky Point for over 30 years. We normally stay at Los Conchas in a house, but plans fell through for this trip...so we called reservation at the point and got 3 places at Los Palomas; 1bd/1ba, 2bd/2ba & 3bd/2ba. All condos were amazing! Decorated better than our own homes in scottsdale, I tell you! And the 3bd condo had a great patio that was huge! The rooms were all lightly cleaned daily, which was a nice touch. Because of the heat (106 degrees) we spent most of the time in the neverending pool. This pool facility was very accomidating; There was a graduated entry pool for the babies, a lazy river with pleanty of tubes for eveyone, and a huge pool with a swim up bar. We comfortably spent our days down by the pool everyday! There is also bbq's and hammocks down in the pool area. We brought a jet-ski and had no problem, and more than enough help, putting it in the ocean. This place is easily 5 stars...or 5 sombreros! The only drawback is the expensive pricetag, but you have to pay for this kind of service.

Las Palomas
This resort is beautiful. It has various swimming pools, which includes a "lazy river" swimming pool and swim up bar. There were a lot of young (around 21-30) at the swim up bar, so I don't recommend that swimming pool if you have young kids, but there are other pools for the kids to go to, including a water slide and kiddy pool. Everything is new and in perfect condition, very clean. The staff was friendly and attentive througout the resort, always smiling and offering us drinks when we were lounging. I will chose Las Palomas again. It was the best resort from all the ones I've gone to in the past.

Opalo 201
We were most impressed with the overall resort. It had plenty of amenties and the service as good overall. The front desk did state that they would do things (such as light a gas grill for me) which took far too long. But overall, we felt safe, and the beach, ocean, pools and service was great. We will definitely go again. One warning in this specific room, the patio furniture is rusted from the humidity and ruined several shirts and towels that we left out to dry. This is not a reflection on the resort, rather a poor judgement from the owners not to use plastic furniture or something other than metal that caused oxidation. The selection of restaurants was poor in terms of price and selection. We took steak, and pork chops, etc and cooked on their grills, but if you don't you could end up spending a small fortune if you are foolish enough to eat at the resort. Venture out into the city and enjoy Mexican food and a much cheaper price. Also, for a little humor and family entertainment their is a small aquarium about 20 min from the resort for only $3 to go in. It isnt impressive but something for the kids to see. Overall we loved it.

Great location!!
We just got back from our first trip to Rocky Point, and what a great experience it was. We stayed in unit A102,which had direct access to the pool area and an over sized balcony (great for families). The condo was nicely decorated and very clean. I would definitly recommend it. The grounds are very clean and the beach was wonderful. I was very impressed with the fact that you were never over whelmed with locals trying to sell you things on the beach. Overall I would say it was a great trip and we will be back to stay at this property again and again!!!

Very nice resort
Condo: Our party included 2 adults and 5 kids so we stayed in a 3 bedroom / 3 bath suite in the Ruby Building (building C). It was furnished like a show room and it included 2 master bedrooms with gorgeous baths and a smaller room set up with two small twins. Keep in mind that since these are all privately owned, they are furnished uniquely by owners personal tastes. Food: We were surprised at the lack of restaurants. There was one and it was VERY expensive. After the first night took most of our $, we went to the closest town where Revoluccion and Constitucion Streets are and found some taco stands were. We ate like royalty for $20! We didn't know until the last night of our stay that you could follow Benito Juarez Blvd to the old Port area where there were many more choices and fun shopping. That is what we have to look forward to next time! Pool/Beach: The pools and lazy river were great but I would recommend to bring your own tube. There were very few and if you weren't there to claim yours by 8 a.m. you didn't get one. The beach had the softest sand I ever felt-softer than Hawaii or Cancun. Many shells could be found by collectors in the evening, especially in the area near where new building is happening. Bring a flashlight to explore along the shore line when the tide is low at night. My rating: I rated lower than best since I spent too many hours waiting for towel and maid service. They recorded that our room was cleaned but it wasn't and it took 4 phone calls to the front desk (and 2 hours) to get clean towels to shower. Also I was not expecting there to be no food there, which put us out.

THE BEST RESORT EVER
IT WAS A VERY ENJOYABLE STAY. PERFECT FOR FAMILIES AND COUPLES. HAS A WONDERFUL WATER SLIDE AND SOME SORT OF LAZY RIVER. MY FAMILY AND I HAVE BEEN TO MANY OTHER RESORTS BEFORE AND THIS ONE EXCEEDS ALL OF THEM. ROOMS WERE OUTSTANDING. KITCHEN HAS EVERYTHING AND MORE YOU NEED WITH HIGH END APPLIANCES. BEDS WERE EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE.THERE IS A TOWEL SERVICE WHICH IS A NICE PLUS.VERY ROMANTIC SETTING.FAMILIES WIL LOVE IT AND SO WILL COUPLES. BEACH WAS BEAUTIFUL. MY FAMILY LOVED IT AND WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE. BETTER THAN ANY OTHER PLACE IN MEXICO AND THE BEST RESORT YOU WILL EVER STAY AT.STAY AT THE AS PALOMAS.

excellent decor and great view. Owners take great care and pride and seem to think of the little stuff like coffee and tea being available.

Opalo #108
We have stayed at most of the resorts on Sandy Beach and Las Palomas is by far the best. The staff was 100% professional and made us feel welcome at all times. I will not stay any where else in RP. Our unit was a 3B3B and slept 8, however the living room did not make out in to a bed and it made it a little tight for 8 adults. This is the only resort I would recommend. We were so pleased we are taking the kids and other families back in 3 weeks. I wish I would have known about these a couple years ago, I would be an owner instead of a renter. Highly recommended for singles and families. Lots of things to do.

Las Palomas unit
Just returned from Las Palomas -- 3rd unit we've rented there. This was the best one! Comfortably and more than adequately furnished -- largescreen hdtv, tvs in every room, comfortable beds, enough beds to accomodate a family of 8, and situated near enough to the pools. Kitchen was stocked with enough dishes and all was in excellent condition. The prior 2 units we had rented at Las Palomas were not furnished well and one didn't even have a working tv -- we were dubious about going back to Las Palomas because of this. After this trip, however, if we could get the unit we just had every time, we'd always return to Las Palomas. We go to Rocky Point several times a year. Our kids love the lazy river and pools at Las Palomas.

Great Place to stay but watch the slippery concrete
This was an awesome place to stay and well worth the money. The only problem i have is the SLIPPERY CONCRETE near the pool area where I had seen at least 2 children wipe out. Its a bit too much concrete in my opinion for an area, but maybe they will change that soon.

The next cancun!
I just got back from my stay at Las Palomas. It was like a 5 star resort. I was shocked. Everything was great..the swim up bar, the pools, spas, restraunt, etc. The condo was decorated like a model home. The service needs some work but is good service for Mexico. I think in five years this place will be the next Cancun. I can't wait to return.

5 star in 5 more years
Our friends and us stayed at Las Palomas in a 2bd 2ba, in Dec. and while the condo was beautifully decorated and the view was great, the resort has a ways to go to get to the resort quality we are used to. The grounds were okay, but the construction took away from the first impression, and the pools, bar one, are not heated at this time of year which we found odd for such a "nice place". They offer maid service in their advertisement, however the maid did not show up until we called, and even when we specified a time for them to come in, the room was not cleaned while we were out, instead we had to call again. The restaurant is mostly American style food, again, odd for being in Mexico. We were very disappointed in that and the fact that in their add they boast of 12 restaurants when really there is only 1. There is going to be 12 when the 8 year project is completed, (in 5 more years), so maybe in 5 years, it will be a five star. They need to follow the example of some other well managed resorts, if they are to get there.

Las Palomas delivers
Spent a recent November weekend with the wife at Las Palomas, our first visit to the property. Had a one-bedroom unit on the second floor of building E. Overall, we were very impressed by everything. The room was impeccably decorated, hardly used, and immaculately clean. Great views of the ocean & pool/courtyard from the second floor balcony. Only negative is on the door/entrance side, a lot of noise during the day from the construction site next door. All of building E may not be your quitest bet, for that reason. The pools were very clean & well-maintained. Perfect water temperature in the pool & hot tub. The beach area is patrolled, groomed & well-maintained. They even keep vendors a distance away, should you not want to be disturbed. Staff was first-rate; everywhere, working all the time. Very polite, knowledgeable, and professional. The only bad apple I encountered was a pool-bar bartender who kept not wanting to bring me my change. Hmmm. We ate at the restaraunt/bar for late night dessert & coffee, as well as breakfast one morning. Again, first-class service & food all the way. Without a doubt, the ONLY world-class resort in Puerto Penasco. Think "The Phoenician" on the beach. Wouldn't stay anywhere else from now on. "Reservations at The Point" also did a great job getting me a room on short notice, with excellent follow-up & communication along the way. They went the extra mile, and I will use them again.

amazed
I was there in June 2006. Its by far the nicest resort in rocky point. The food and decor are unparalleled. The one thing this place needs is a gym. I am going back tomorrow and i am excited for the view.

las palomas is so perfect we bought our own condo there!
Las Palomas is spectacular, from beautiful sandy beach to the swim up bar and the fun water slide for the kids. The condos are equipped with state of the art appliances and are so clean! We are buying our own two bed condo due for completion in Nov.2006 but in the mean time continue to rent and enjoy the ultimate Rocky Point vacation! Did I mention the brand new gym,19 hole golf course ,underground parking and soon to be on site medical facility? All this only four hours from Phoenix!

STAY AT THE LAS PALOMAS
I JUST WANTED TO LET EVERYBODY KNOW ABOUT MY RECENT STAY AT THE LAS PALOMAS RESORT. MY FAMILY CONSISTING OF MYSELF, WIFE, AND FOUR KIDS HAD ONE OF, IF NOT THE BEST TIME AT THIS RESORT AND WE HAVE STAYED AT FOUR OF THE SANDY BEACH RESORTS.DONT GET ME WRONG, WE LOVE THEM ALL, BUT I THINK THIS IS THE BEST IN OUR OPINION. EVERYTHING FROM THE STAFF ,POOLSIDE BAR AND EASY ACCESS TO THE BEACH, MADE THIS PLACE MOST ENJOYABLE. I THINK THE KIDS AGREE THEY ENJOYED THE POOL MOST OF ALL WITH ITS BEAUTIFUL WATER SLIDE, KEPT THEM BUSY FOR HOURS. THE CONDO ITSELF HAD EVERY AMMENITY WE NEEDED FOR OUR FAMILY. IT WAS DECORATED PROFESSIONALLY AND HAD SPECTACULAR VIEWS.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RESORT TO ANYBODY PLANNING A TRIP TO ROCKY POINT. YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY.
